She is known for portraying Amy Juergens in the ABC Family series The Secret Life of the American Teenager and for co-starring alongside George Clooney in the critically acclaimed 2011 film The Descendants. For her performance in The Descendants she was nominated for a Golden Globe and she won an Independent Spirit Award as well as the 2012 MTV Movie Awards Breakthrough Performance Award.
